PURPOSE:To extend the service, by checking response data of a terminating terminal in a data exchange device and by requesting the return of response data to the terminating terminal automatically without a recall from an originating terminal to request response data from a subscriber. CONSTITUTION:A pair of input and output terminals 11 and 12 is connected by a data exchange device DEXC, and information is exchanged between terminals 11 and 12. These terminals 11 and 12 are connected to a response data request control circuit 2 logically, and a special sequence from the originating terminal is detected by a response request sequence detecting part 21 to start a response data monitor part 22, and the time of response data from the terminating terminal is monitored. If response data is not received over a prescribed time, the control is transferred to a response data request control part 23, and characters for calling the terminating terminal and transmitted from the control part 23; and when response data is received, response data is transferred from a response data report control part 24, thus extending the service for data exchange with a simple hardware. |
