<p>PURPOSE:To increase engine speed to the extent possible to cope with overload by stopping the supply of an exciting current to a powder clutch temporarily upon discriminating the entry into the accelerating state, and resuming current application afterwards. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 4, upon discriminating acceleration demand on the basis of the output of a throttle sensor 7, computes temporary stop time corresponding to the operating state and stops temporarily the supply of an exciting current to the powder clutch 3 of a transmission 2 through an exciting current on off circuit 10 and an exciting circuit 11. An engine 1 is kept at an idle, and when the engine speed detected by an engine speed sensor 5 is increased to the extent possible to cope with overload, the supply of the exciting current is resumed. Also at the shift action time of an automatic transmission 2 detected by a shift position sensor 9, the powder clutch 3 is released temporarily in the same way. Accelerating and speed change performance can be thus improved.</p> |
