PURPOSE:To effectively prevent stain in the case of total very rapid processing by incorporating silver chloride into a silver halide emulsion, specifying the consumption of alkali by a sensitive material, using permeated water in a washing stage and specifying washing time. CONSTITUTION:Silver chloride is incorporated into a silver halide emulsion by >=90 mol% and the consumption of alkali by a sensitive material is regulated to <=3.0mmol/m<2>. Permeated water obtd. by treating used washing water with a reverse osmotic membrane is used in a washing stage and washing time is regulated to <=45 sec. Color development time is practically regulated to <=20 sec and all of processing stages from color development to drying are finished within 100 sec. Stain can be effectively prevented even in the case of total very rapid processing.
