A thread tension device (B), in particular for the inlet side of a thread regulator (F), has a thread brake (3) with a fixed flow axis (f) on which a screening surface (A) with a thread opening (22) is arranged perpendicular to the inflow direction (R) of the thread (Y). The transverse position of the screening surface (A) on directions (R1, R2) of the thread (Y) which deviate from the flow axis (f) can be adjusted by direction-adjusting means (M) for the screening surface (A). These direction-adjusting means (M) are also provided in the case of a screening surface (A) for general thread-guiding tasks which is arranged in a stationary mount and aligned perpendicular to the inflow direction (R) of the thread (Y), in order to adjust the transverse position of the screening surface (A) on the corresponding inflow direction (R1, R2) of the thread (Y). |
