PURPOSE:To effect an easy and efficient cleaning and sterilizing of mattresses in a large amount by a method wherein the mattress is subjected to a drying process of passing a vapor therethrough and a sterilizing process of passing therethrough a vapor at a high temperature and pressure, while the one side thereof is being sucked. CONSTITUTION:Jets of pure water are applied by operating a pure water pump 7 to the surface of a mattress M for prewashing. The mattress M is washed by passing a detergent-containing water in a tank 9 penetratively therethrough from the ground by operating a washing pump 10, while the one side of the mattress M is being sucked by a vacuum tray 2. The mattress M is washed for rinsing by passing a pure water in a water tank 8 penetratively therethrough from the ground, while the one side of the mattress M is being sucked. The one side of the mattress M is sucked and water is removed therefrom by a vacuum sucking machine 11. The mattress M is dried by passing a vapor therethrough by a vapor jet means 6, while the one side thereof is being sucked. The mattress M is sterilized with a vapor at a high temperature and pressure. |
