A well-logging tool (10), for use within a well borehole (12) for measuring a characteristic of a flowing fluid therein, is shown to include a housing (17) and a spinner for measuring the flow rate of the fluid. The spinner is disposed within the housing (17). To divert the fluid into the housing (17), the housing (17) carries a funnel (28) having a wide end (32) and a narrow end, for sealing the annulus between the well borehole (12) and the housing (17) and for directing the flowing fluid into the housing (17). The narrow end of the funnel (28) abutts and is attached to the housing (17). A pump (34) is employed for pumping fluids into an inflatable tubular ring (33) attached to the wide end of the funnel (28) to seal the edges of the funnel (28) against the borehole wall.
