PURPOSE: To obtian a medicinal agent for antisepticizing, preserving and suspending biologically active cells or cell components, especially red blood cells by adding a cheating agent for multivalent metal ions in a buffer solution to improve survival ratio of cells (preservation stability) or to improve a rate of hemolysis of the blood cells. CONSTITUTION: This medicinal agent for preserving and suspending cells, especially red blood cells useful as an auxiliary component of diagnosis for measuring activities of a complement system, each factor of the complement system of activities of an inhibitor is obtained by adding a chelating agent for multivalent metal ions, prefearbly EDTA, EGTA or oxaloacetic acid as an essential ingredient in addition to other materials known in this technical field, e.g. an electrolyte such as NaCl, a sugar such as fructose or a sugar alcohol to an aqueous buffer solution, and preferably adding ATP and/or an aqueous phosphate solution, further at least one of heparin, potassium ions, gelatin, chemically modified gelatin and HEPES. |
