PURPOSE:To speed up operation processing attendant on the discrimination of a vehicle collision, by conducting the discrimination of a shock on the basis of the respective detection signals of a carspeed detecting means which detects the speed of the vehicle at the time of being shocked, and a detecting means which detects the shock inflicted on the vehicle, and conducting the drive control of a crew member protecting means. CONSTITUTION:A G sensor 1 detecting generation of G at the time of a vehicle collision is built inside an ECU 101 controlling the operation of the ignition device 23 of an air bag, and the output signal of this G sensor 1 is inputted at a CPU 3 through an A/D converter 2. Also, a bumper switch 21 at which a contact point becomes ON at the time of collision, and a carspeed sensor 22 are provided at a vehicle bumper, and these output signals are inputted at the CPU 3. And an ignition signal is outputted in accordance with an operation processing outcome at the CPU 3, and the ignition device 23 is operated, and the gas bulge of the air bag is made. That is, at the CPU 3, processing is commenced at the time of the bumper switch 21 being ON, and the output of the ignition signal is made by conducting the alteration of operations according to a carspeed such as an integral section difference, a threshold value difference opposing it or the like. |
