TREATMENT OF GAS CONTAINING NITROGEN OXIDE

PURPOSE:To reduce NOx in gas without replenishing chemicals by subjecting the gas to electrolysis during passing through a fluidized bed contg. a soln. contg. a cyclic polyamine-metal complex and powder of a chevrel compd. contg. copper or silver. CONSTITUTION:Gas contg. NOx is fed from a pipe 3 as an electrode into a fluidized bed 2 contg. an aq. soln. contg. a cyclic polyamine-metal complex and powder of a chevrel compd. contg. copper and/or a chevrel compd. contg. silver represented by a formula MxMo6S8-y (where M is Cu or Ag, x>2 and y=+ or -0.5). In the bed 2, the gas is subjected to electrolysis by impressing voltage between the electrode 3 and a vessel 1 as the cathode while fluidizing the aq. soln. and the powder. The treated gas is exhausted from the vessel 1 through an exhaust pipe 5.
