An ironing machine comprises an ironing roller rotatably mounted on a supporting tube and a heatable ironing head, which can be pressed against each other by a press drive. The lower end of the supporting tube is adjustably clamped by a supporting body arranged in the machine base, via an intermediate axially compressible rubber bushing. The supporting tube can be pivoted, together with the supporting body, the ironing roller and ironing head and their driving devices, about an axis perpendicular to the ironing roller relative to the pedestal base into several working positions determined by locking grooves on the supporting body in conjunction with a locking bar on the stand base, and fixed in these positions. The supporting body has a bending constriction and can be deformed by wedge action in order to align the ironing head with the ironing roller. The press drive of the ironing head is accommodated in the supporting body and has two connecting rods of unequal length, the shorter connecting rod being designed as a pair of connecting rods and the longer connecting rod as a torsion-proof profiled body. The pressing force is produced by a U-shaped rotary rod spring which is tensioned during the pressing operation by a lifting motor in a housing which pivots on the supporting body. |
