The container for stacked waste-paper has a base (12) and sides (14) forming a square interior (16) open at the top and in one piece. At least two opposite sides (14) of the container have at least one holder (18) on the inside of the container (10) for detachably holding a binder (20) strapped round the stack of papers of periodicals. The holder (18) has a middle section extending on the inside of the container (10), along the two sides (14) and base (12) and having two ends (22) sticking up above the sides (14).
