Insulating glass packet

Filling inner zone between insulating glass panes with a gas other than air, and pref. argon comprises pressing assembled glass panes together in a packet in a press. At one corner zone, one pane is held at a gap from the distance holder frame for probes to be inserted into the inner space. Pref the glass panes forming the packet are pressed together while they stand vertically, with a pane held apart from the frame at one of the lower corners by bending. The probe to insert the gas blows the gas into the hollow space parallel to the lower horizontal leg of the frame. While the gas and air mixt. is withdrawn from the interior of the glass packet, as the probe delivers air, the pressure within the packet is higher than in the ambient atmos. When the air within the glass packet has been wholly exchanged for gas, pressure is applied to the glass panes at the open corner. The probe to extract the gas air mixt. is angled upwards away from the probe delivering the gas into the hollow interior space, and both probes are inserted simultaneously. The gas/air mixt. is extracted from the interior until the air content is below a preset value. The vol of the space is calculated, and the gas vol. fed in exceeds this vol. by a preset fraction.
