For the image data storage, an image data bank and a control signal bank are formed. The image data side data are stored in a corresp. part of the image data bank, while side control signals(s) are written into the signal bank with a preset storage magnitude. Then a terminator code is written into the control signal bank with a preset code storage magnitude. The side data and side control signal writing steps are repeated until an interruption in the communication system has been detected. Then the stored image side data are determined prior to the release of the image data. USE/ADVANTAGE - For facsiminile appts. with data bank contents retention on current failure, or other defects.
