Vasotocin derivatives of formula (I), wherein Hmp = a 2-hydroxy-3- mercaptopropionic acid residue (a), Z = Phe or Tyr, Y = Hgn or Hci, X = (b), Q = H or from 1 to 3 amino acid residues of the sam e or different natural or unnatural L- or D-amino acids, and n is 1, 2 or 3, are disclosed. A pharmaceutical composition which comprises at least one vasotocin derivative as defined above is intended for use as a vasoconstrictive agent.
