HEAT TREATMENT OF SILICA FUME AND HIGH STRENGTH CEMENT

PURPOSE:To obtain modified silica fume capable of giving cement or concrete having qualities comparable or superior to those of conventional cement or concrete even using a decreased amount of the additive by heat-treating silica fume under specific condition. CONSTITUTION:Silica fume is heat-treated at 400-900 deg.C for 2-30min. Cement compounded with the silica fume treated under the above condition develops improved strength compared with cement containing silica fume free from heat-treatment.
