PURPOSE:To optimize a speed change control always in accordance with operation and running conditions by setting a speed change range, suited for each running condition, with a speed change region limited to a D range and making selection arbitrarily possible by select bar operation. CONSTITUTION:Target speed change ratio is calculated in a calculating part 47 by arbitrarily selectively obtaining ranges such as '1' or the like, with a speed change region limited to a low speed shift side, and '2' or the like, with the region limited to low and intermediate shifts, in addition to a D range, in which a speed change can be controlled in a normal all region, by a select bar 38 and by referring the corresponding range to a target primary pulley rotational speed reference part 46 through an inhibiter switch 39 and a select part 61. In the range 2, a speed change control is optimized in operation and running conditions by the speed change region and further suited for mountain part running or the like with a large effect of drive power, engine and a brake. Meanwhile in the range 1, the speed change control is suited for running or the like on an ascending road with a large gradient by further increasing drive power or the like by the speed change region. |
