Appts for welding strip material, in partic for welding the edges of two overlapping strips has a heating wedge and a following pressure roller. A polished surface acts as a support for the material strips at a pt below the pressure roller. One haul-in and transporting roller is provided for the lower strip and two similar rollers for the upper strip. The pressure roller presses both materials together in the guide for the lower strip. USE/ADVANTAGE - Permits welding of the edges of two overlapping material strips using a heating wedge and guarantees flat welded seams.
