<p>PURPOSE:To surely perform an optimum tracking control by controlling the drive of a recording and reproducing system in order to maximize an amplitude level of a regenerative signal and minimize a low band cross talk ratio obtained from the regenerative signal. CONSTITUTION:The regenerative signal of a magnetic tape 10 is equalized in waveform by a waveform equalizer 13, and is afterward led to a comparator 20. For the other input of the comparator 20, the regenerative signal is inputted, and a difference signal obtained by comparing both input signals is outputted by the comparator 20 via an LPF 21 to a 1st envelope detecting circuit 22. The inputted difference signal is detected in its envelope by the circuit 22 to obtain a amplitude level v1, and this level v1 is outputted via an A/D converter 23 to a control part 24. At the same time, the output signal of the circuit 13 is inputted to a 2nd envelope detecting circuit 25, where the input signal is detected in the envelope by the circuit 25 to obtain a amplitude level v2, and this level v2 is inputted via and A/D converter 26 to the control part 24. Tracking of a magnetic head is variable controlled by the control part 24 so as to minimize v1/v2 and also maximize the level v2.</p> |
