A reclosure device (10) adapted for installation on a cardboard container (12) having side walls (14) and end walls (16) that fold together at the upper end of the container to allow the upper edges (18) of the side walls to be positioned adjacent each other. An elongated track member (24) having spaced apart side portions (26) adapted for attachment to the adjacent upper edges of the container side walls, each side portion having a guide means (32) extending along its outer surface and substantially the full width of the carton side walls. An elongated slider member (22) attached to the track member (24) parallel to the guide members (32) has opposed jaw portions (38) along its length with edge means (40,42) which are slidable on the guide members (32).
