Use of selected esters, which are able to flow and to be pumped in the temperature range from 0 to 5 degree C, of monofunctional alcohols having from 2 to 12, in particular from 4 to 12, carbon atoms and aliphatic, saturated monocarboxylic acids having from 12 to 16 carbon atoms at the oil phase or in that drilling flushing sludges which are suitable for an environmentally friendly off-shore exploitation of mineral oil or natural gas deposits and contain, in a closed oil phase, a disperse, aqueous phase together with emulsifiers, weight-imparting agents, fluidized-loss additives and, if desired, further customary additives.
