PURPOSE:To obtain an antitumor agent having stability to temperature, enzyme, etc., and effectively raised activity by using both a component separated from precipitate prepared by adding an organic solvent to a culture solution of bacteria belonging to the genus Streptococcus or an ultrafiltration filtrate thereof and picibanil. CONSTITUTION:Streptococcus pyogenes ATCC 21,060 belonging to the genus Streptococcus are cultured in a medium and cells are removed by centrifuging to collect a culture solution. The culture solution or a concentrated ultrafiltration filtrate prepared by ultrafiltering and concentrating the culture solution is mixed with an organic solvent (e.g. methanol), allowed to stand, formed precipitate is separated, treated by a hydroxyapatite column, eluted with 0.01 M phosphoric acid buffer solution to give SpF-pCO-20 or with 0. 25 M phosphoric acid buffer solution to give SpF-PCO-30, respectively. A solution of the component is blended with picibanil to give the objective antitumor agent having effectively raised activity. |
