摘要 NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R<1> and R<2> are 1-18C alkyl; asterisk mark * indicates asymmetric carbon atom). EXAMPLE:(2R,3S)-3-Fluoro-2-nonanol. USE:A synthetic intermediate for ferroelectric liquid crystal compounds, medicines, agricultural chemicals, etc. PREPARATION:An organometallic reagent as an alkylating agent is added to a fluoroaldehyde expressed by formula II in the presence or absence of a catalyst to afford the compound expressed by formula I. For example, an optically active amino-alcohol is used as the catalyst and a dialkylzinc reagent is used as the organometallic reagent. The optically active fluoroaldehyde is also a new substance and readily obtained by reducing an optically action alpha-fluorocarboxylic acid ester or oxidizing an optically active 2-fluoro-1-alkanol.
