The gangway's side rail (4, 5) is rotatable around a horizontal lateral pivot (6) on a push rod (2), and is constructed as a parallel linked rod assembly. The side rail includes an upright support (5) linked to the push rod (2) and held tight in its initial high-angle position by an elastic force. The horizontal pivot (6) is height-adjustable opposite a force transfer point in the form of a bumper (27). USE/ADVANATAGE - Ground equipment for docking against aircraft's fuselage. Connection of the side rails to the fuselage is safer.
