PURPOSE:To certainly feed an ink ribbon even when the movement of a carriage is reversed, by driving pulleys having a belt moving the carriage mounted thereover through five gears to reduce the backlash of the gears to a large extent. CONSTITUTION:A timing belt 5 is driven so as to move a carriage 1 to the direction of a follower pulley 6 while a star lever 10 is rotated to the direction of a white arrow and the rotation of the pulley 6 is transmitted to a ribbon sending roller 17 through a sun gear 9, the large gear 12a of a star gear 12, the large gear 15a of a ribbon drive gear 15 and a drive part 15c to move an ink ribbon 19 to a left arm part 16b from a right arm part 16a. In the next step, the belt 5 is driven so as to move the carriage 1 to the direction of a drive pulley 7 and the lever 10 is moved to a direction bringing the pinion 12b of the gear 12 into engagement with the inner gear of the gear 13 along the rotary direction of a gear 9 while the rotation thereof is transmitted to the pinion 15b of the gear 15 through the pinion 12b, the inner gear 13b, an outer gear 13a and an intermediate gear 20 to move the ribbon 19 to the left arm part 16b from the right arm part 16a. |
