The invention relates to a device for connecting at least one cable, such as an earth cable, inside a metal casing. This device comprises a connection bracket (3) integral with the casing (1) and defining a space for insertion of the cable (2) and a means for fastening the latter in this space. The device is characterised in that the connection bracket (3) comprises a part which extends away from the internal surface of the casing (1) by a predetermined distance and defines with the latter the said space for insertion of the cable (2), and in that the fastening means is constituted by a member (4) in the form of a clamping wedge capable of being forcibly gripped between the cable (2) and the said part of the bracket (3), producing a force which wedges the cable against the surface of the casing. The invention is used for street-lighting lampposts. <IMAGE>
