PURPOSE:To obtain the subject packing, suitable for hermetic sealing of high- temperature fluids, capable of facilitating mounting and replacing operation and having a high density without permeation and leakage by pressurizing expanded graphite laminated to both sides of a wire net, finely cutting the resultant sheetlike member, bundling and braiding the formed slender belts. CONSTITUTION:The objective packing obtained by pressurizing expanded graphite 2 laminated to both sides of a wire net 1, forming a sheetlike member 3, cutting the resultant sheetlike member to 2-10mm width size, forming long slender belts 5 having 0.5-2.0g/cm<3> expansion density, bundling preferably the plural aforementioned slender belts and braiding the bundled slender belts as a braided rope. |
