The cylinder device contains a grooved steel cylinder (1), a pressure cylinder (3, 5) cooperating with the steel cylinder (1) and provided with a rubber covering (5), and a cleaning device for keeping the pressure cylinder (3, 5) clean. The cleaning device contains a steel lamella (9), which bears with a predetermined pressure against the circumference of the pressure cylinder (3, 5), and a cleaning slot (17) in the circumference of the pressure cylinder (3, 5). The cleaning slot (17) extends helically continuously over the entire length of the rubber covering (5) of the pressure cylinder (3, 5). The steel lamella (9) prevents electrostatic charges and reliably strips off impurities from the circumference of the pressure cylinder (3, 5). Stripped-off particles are transported away outwards through the cleaning slot (17). The risk of lap formations on the pressure cylinder (3, 5) is thereby reduced, and the combing machine runs without faults and without maintenance for a longer time. <IMAGE>
