A device for striking an electric arc in a plasmatron comprises a current source (1) connected between the electrodes (8, 9) of the plasmatron (7), a striking element (2) connected between the input electrode (8) and the nearest interelectrode insert (10) and, connected in series, a current sensitive element (4) and a switch (3b) controlled by it, both being connected between the output (23) of the current source (1), connected to the output electrode (9), and an additional output (16) of the device, connected to the interelectrode insert (10) nearest to the input electrode (8). |
