Provided is a balance-unbalance converting element for easily adjusting the phase balance of two balance signals. Resonant lines (13A, 13B) are connected to balance terminals (16A, 16B), respectively. A resonant line (14) comprises line portions (14A-14C). The line portion (14A) is connected to an unbalance terminal (16C) and the resonant line (13A). The line portion (14B) is connected to the resonant line (13B). One end of a balance property adjusting electrode (19) is opposed to a lateral portion of a position shifted to a line portion (14B) side from the center of the resonant line (14). The other end of the balance property adjusting electrode (19) is connected to a ground electrode (15). Side surface electrodes (11A-11C, 12A-12C) are provided in combination. The center in the line width direction of the side surface electrodes (11C, 12C) conforms to the center of the side surface of a dielectric substrate (10). The center in the line width direction of the balance-unbalance adjusting electrode (19) is shifted from the center of the upper surface of the dielectric substrate.
