ALKOXY-FUNCTIONAL SILANE COMPOSITIONS FOR UNPRIMED ADHESION TO POLYCARBONATE The present invention relates to a novel coating composition containing alkoxy-functional silanes and colloidal silica to which hydroxyacrylates have been added. This coating composition may be applied to solid substrates and thermal cured to form a substantially clear, abrasion resistant layer. The composition has particular utility as an abrasion resistant coating for plastics, especially polycarbonate, without the need for primers.
