A ratchet wrench 20 comprises a body 24 and an integrally formed handle 34 of moulded fibre-reinforced plastics material. The body 24 includes a head 28 formed with an opening 38 which contains a ratchet drive assembly 40. A metal bar (not shown) moulded into the handle 34 substantially enhances the strength of the wrench 20, and metal clamp plates 70, 72 seated in recesses 76, 78 in opposed principal surfaces of the shank 32 are bolted to each other, and provide a secure mounting for the drive assembly 40. Transverse channels 90 are formed in the enlarged, ellipsoidal cross-section handle 90. |
