Electro-optical bus lead comprising at least a first and a second electrical connector and a cable 2 which connects the same, where both of the abovementioned connectors can be connected to separate electrical devices, where between them there is formed a unidirectional or bi-directional signal path where data is at least partially transmitted in the form of a light signal, and a power supply path, along which at least part of the power for the device is brought in electrical form. The electrical connectors are plugs 1 which can be disconnected from the electrical devices. Each plug contains both an optical transmitter 11 for converting the electrical data signal into optical form and supplying one of the cable's optical fibres 5 or 6 and an optical receiver 12 for receiving the optical data signal from the other of the cable's optical fibres 6 or 5 and converting this to electrical form. <IMAGE>
