PURPOSE:To execute the distance measurement by a photographer himself by providing a light emitting part for emitting an optical signal to an oscillator, and an acoustic wave emitting part for emitting an acoustic wave signal, providing a photodetecting part and an acoustic wave receiving part on a receiver and calculating a time difference of an optical signal and an acoustic wave signal, detecting a distance between a camera and a transmitter, based thereon and operating a focal mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A camera 10 whose power source is turned on is turned to an object to be photographed and placed in a suitable position, an oscillator 22 is removed from an installing part of a main body 11 and by operating an existance confirming switch, the mode is switched to a remote control priority mode. Subsequently, a photographer who becomes an object to be photographed goes in front of the camera and turns the oscillator 22 to the camera 10, turns on a release switch 26 and checks whether the release switch 26 is turned on or not by a microcomputer 18 of the oscillator 22 side. When the switch is turned on, an LED element 25 is allowed to emit light by sending a command signal from the microcomputer 18, and simultaneously, an ultrasonic wave is emitted from an ultrasonic emitter 23, a time difference of an LED light and the ultrasonic wave is calculated by a time difference arithmetic means 28, and a focus lens 12 is focused. |
