Process for the preparation of active water-soluble allotropic molecular sulphate, specifically for preparing S2 or S4 sulphur from S8 sulphur which is insoluble in water, comprises reacting the commercial S8 sulphur with sulphuric acid in vacuum, treating the resulting products with salts in order to stabilise it, and centrifuging to separate the S2 or S4 sulphur.
