Immobilisation apparatus for cables, known as a "stopper", suitable for retention of underwater cables during their placement and collection procedures, which includes a usual coiled suspender that is modified to have a low friction factor at one part of the interior surface (1A), and a higher friction factor at surface part (1 B), which has been found to increase the load capacity of the suspender when used on underwater cables with smooth surfaces that are used great depths. |
