The fastener has two elements (1,2), fixed to the ends of the bracelet (5). One element (1) has a U-shaped piece (6) which slides into a cavity (8) in the other element (2). It cooperates with a tongue part (9) of which projects laterally outside the cavity and forms a press button. A nose (10), on the end of the U-shaped piece, fits into a hole in the second element to lock the fastener. A spring pushes the push button out. A screw (12), screwed into the second element through an opening in the tongue, prevents the tongue escaping from the cavity.
