发明名称 Restoring saturated masonry by drying using electrical heating - using standard electrically-heated rods inserted into holes drilled in masonry near foundations
摘要 Holes are drilled into the stonework or brickwork of a wall and into these holes heating elements are inserted to capel moisture. Heating rods (4) with heatable surfaces are used. Moisture is driven out by the heat produced. The rods have the same diamete as the holes to ensure adequate heat transfer to the wall. Thermostats control the temp. of the surface of the heating rods so that the surrounding masonry has a temp. between 50 and 200 degC - i.e. a temp. high enough to kill fungi and other spores and organism damaging the masonry. The holes are no more than c. 12.5cm apart. The rods are heated electrically and may be metal-sheathed heating cartridges. USE/ADVANTAGE - For masonry near foundations, especially masonry containing relatively large amounts of water (=rising damp). Simple. Once dry, wall can be injected with resin sealant.
