<p>According to the apparatus of the invention, beaker container blanks (27) of at least one continuously delivered stack, are engaged at an outturned flange region and delivered axially in sequence between successive threads of a circumferentially spaced set of heated rollers (22, 22', 22''). The blanks having heated flanges are sequentially delivered by air blasts into the edge rounding cavities of female moulds (49), disposed around a plate (40) which sequentially rotates through stations; at which the rim is rounded between the female mould cavity and an axially displaced male mould (50); at which the beaker is ejected by means (51) from the mould (49) into a stack (34); and at which the moulds (49) are cooled. According to the process of the invention, heat damage to the blanks within the heated delivery rollers is avoided during stoppage of rounding, by mounting the rollers (22, 22', 22''), for displacement about a pivot (52) out of alignment with the female moulds, so that blank delivery is not interrupted. <IMAGE></p> |
