PURPOSE:To prevent any foreign matter from entering into a glass vacuum case, and enhance the work efficiency of a cathode-ray tube by adding a phosphor composition of a given color to a material from which a face glass for the cathode-ray tube, in which picture elements are formed, is prepared. CONSTITUTION:A vacuumed glass case 4 with a given shape is prepared by contaminating glass with, for example, a sulfide system phosphor composition which consists of ZnS and Ag and is used as a blue phosphor during the process in which a glass material is manufactured. The inner wall of the case 4 is coated with a conductive film 5 which transmits electrons, and the case 4 is equipped with an electron gun 3. Electron beams discharged from the electron gun 3 collide with the phosphor composition contained in the glass of the case 4, and then the phosphor is made to emit light. |
