PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of a quality under storage and to bring an oxidative polymerization-type ink layer into contact with air at the time of transfer to generate an oxidative polymerization to obtain a fast image superior in fixing properties by a method wherein the oxidatively polymerizable ink layer is coated with an air interrupting layer. CONSTITUTION:It is desirable that the thickness of a substrate 1 is the order of 2-15 microns when a thermal head is used as a heat source for thermal transfer, but it is not particularly limited when a heat source capable of selectively heating a thermal transfer ink layer, such as a laser beam, is used. An ink layer 2 is composed of an oxidative polymerization-type ink using a vehicle and an adjuvant as main components. The adjuvant is used for regulating the function of the ink layer 2. An air interrupting layer 3 is a layer made of a substance interrupting the oxidation-polymerizable ink layer 2 from air. As the air interrupting layer 3, a material having a low oxidation transmittance and softening or melting by heat is used in this invention. |
