The present invention relates to a method for producing spark plug wells as well as to the spark plug well element for implementing this method. The method in accordance with the invention is characterised in that it consists in inserting a tubular element (11) into the mould of a cylinder head (1) during the operation of casting the latter, and in holding it in position, the element (11) including a collar (11b) used to position and hold the element (11) in a sand core for forming the oil chamber (2) in the cylinder head (1).
