PURPOSE:To heat, compress and cool a work to be compressed in a short period of time by disposing a heating agent on the outer periphery of the work to be compressed set together with particulate matter in the central part of a die and igniting this heating agent, then lowering a punch and compressing the work to be compressed under a high temp. and high pressure. CONSTITUTION:The work to be compressed 4 (e.g.: stainless steel powder which is vacuum sealed into a stainless steel capsule) is set together with the particulate matter (e.g.: mixture composed of spherical alumina powder and graphite powder, etc.) which is a pressure medium is set in the central part of the die 1 installed in a press machine. Further, the heating agent 6 (e.g.: thermit exothermic agent) is disposed on the outer periphery of the work 4. After this heating agent 6 is ignited, the punch 2 is lowered to compress the work 4 under the high temp. and high pressure. The work to be compressed is heated, compressed and cooled in a short period of time and further, the temp. rise of the die is decreased according to the above-mentioned method. |
