PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of wrinkle in a thermal transfer sheet and the thermal fusion of an ink layer thereof to a sheet to be subjected to thermal transfer by providing an acryl-modified silicone film on the surface of a dyable thermoplastic resin layer. CONSTITUTION:On a substrate sheet forming a sheet to be subjected to thermal transfer, a thermoplastic resin layer which can be dyed with a sublimable dye is formed, and the top surface thereof is coated with an acryl-modified silicone resin. As a result, the sheet to be subjected to thermal transfer has a friction coefficient and a releasability, which are suitable for an ink layer of a thermal transfer sheet. In addition, as the acryl-modified silicone resin, a resin of the following type is preferably used; a compound obtained by a condensation reaction of a silicone compound having silanol group with an acrylic compound having hydroxyl group is reacted with a melamine compound to be cured. The use of a satud. polyester resin having a relatively high glass transition temperature as the thermoplastic resin esp. improves the shelf stability of a recorded image. |
