PURPOSE:To prevent heat-damage to a heating body and a film by inhibiting the energization of the heating body upon detecting that a pressure member is separated from the heating body. CONSTITUTION:Pressure is released by turning the pressure lever 7 against the force of a pressure spring 10 and from a pressure position, shown by the broken line in the Figure, to a direction shown by an arrow B. When the pressure lever 7 is pushed down, it is locked and held in a lever release position by a lock means. When the pressure lever 7 is positioned in the lever release position, a microswitch 10 operates by means of its turnable front end 7b, and turns off, for example, a power source circuit and the power source of an image forming device main body equipped with the fixing device. Thus, erroneous energization of the heating body 1 and the damage to the heating body and the heat resistant film can be prevented. |
