<p>PURPOSE: To correct a difference of hydrostatic pressure due to a difference between the height of the heart of a user and the height of a cuff by operating a data register means for registering data corresponding to the stature of the user, inserting a lower arm in the cuff to measure the blood pressure, and correcting the measurement result according to the stature. CONSTITUTION: When a display key of a keyboard 13 is pressed to energize the above device, the device under the control of a microprocessor 20 calls upon a user to register the stature of the use by display or the voice notice. If the register is not performed even after repeated persuation, the lowest design stature of the user is adopted. This characteristic provides a safety function that as correction is not made for a user having the lowest stature intended by the device, in the case of correcting the output value of blood pressure, it is heightened. The user's stature can be directly measured by a functional arm or optical detection. By use of data obtained concerning the user's stature, a storage device 21 is designated to output a stored correction numeric value, and subsequently subtracted from the digital output of A/D converters 24, 25 corresponding to sensors 22, 23. and the corrected measurement result is displayed on a display device 19.</p> |
