PURPOSE:To readily separate weak paper from an image carrier with a separation voltage maintaining at a low level by detecting the degree of the stiffness of paper by a stiffness detecting means upstream of a transfer part and permitting a control means to control the sucking force of a sucker according to the detected result. CONSTITUTION:A sensor 31 provided in the vicinity of the top of a guide member 30 detects the rotation and displacement of the guide member 30 due to the difference in the stiffness of the paper 13. The result detected by the sensor 31 is operated by a microcomputer 32, and its output is sent to a motor 33, whose drive and rotational frequency vary. Ultimately, the rotation of a fan 34 is controlled. Consequently, the sucking force of the fan 34 is controlled according to the degree of the stiffness of the paper 13, whereby the paper 13 is readily separated. |
