PURPOSE:To prevent a recording layer from peeling off or being damaged and to obtain a satisfactory display image by coating a recording layer surface with a lubricating heat-conductive material. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a recording means recording an image by contact heating from the side of the recording layer 2 on a display medium 10 forming a heat sensitive material that reversibly changes light scattering intensity on a substrate as the recording layer 2. Before the display medium 10 is carried to the recording means, the surface of the recording layer 2 is coated with the lubricating heat-sensitive material. Consequently, even if the heating means 11 is brought into contact with the recording layer 2 to record an image from the side of the recording layer 2, the recording layer 2 is not peeled off nor damaged. Moreover, the heat contact of the recording means with the recording layer 2 is improved to obtain a satisfactory display image. |
