Grinding rollers gap control - by directing flow of material to narrowest region of gap

The grinding mill has two rollers (10,11) mounted on parallel axes with the material which is to be ground being fed into the gap between the two rollers. In order to maintain a parallel gap between the two rollers (10,11), the flow of material between the rollers (10,11) is controlled by means of two sliders (18,19) mounted above the gap. The position of each slider (18) or (19) is adjusted by means of a screwed spindle so that most of the material to be ground falls through the gap in its narrowest region thus tending to widen the gap in this region.
