Temperature switch based on thermo ferrite element - exhibits sudden change in magnetic resistance at certain temperature

The temperature switch has a contact carrier (5) that is pivot mounted (9). A tension spring (4) applies a force to maintain the contacts open (6,7) against a bias force. The lower end of the spring is fixed to a permanent magnet (3) that normally is attracted to the surface of a thermomagnetic block (1). The magnetic flux generated by the thermo-magnetic block is dependent upon the temperature. Above a specific value the flux rapidly falls and releases the permanent magnet to allow contact closure. USE/ADVANTAGE - Allows switching of large currents.
