PURPOSE:To make the shape of cut ends to always be perpendicular to the major axis direction of a straight line, and to obtain sufficiently high-quality printing and display of a straight line by calculating the coordinates of the both cut ends of the straight line with a four-connection plotting method which has a perpendicular slope to the length direction of the straight line. CONSTITUTION:A storing means 21, which stores the coordinate information of the two points of start point and end point, and thickness information, of a straight line given from an input device or a storage device, is provided. Also, an orthogonal coordinate calculating means 31, which calculates coordinate which is orthogonal to the straight line which connect the starting point and the ending point of the straight line from the thickness information stored in the storing means 21, is provided. When plotting the straight line, the cut at both ends of the straight line are plotted by calculating an orthogonal coordinate value which corresponds to the thickness information by a four-connection plotting method 32 about the starting point side and the ending point side instructed by the orthogonal coordinate calculating means 31. Thus, the cut at both ends of the straight line to be plotted becomes orthogonal to the major axis direction, and the straight line with high quality is obtained. |
